Death awareness meditation may sound frightening and depressing. In fact, it can be liberating. We are afraid of it because we don’t see death as a natural process–we know people are dying all the time yet we never think it will happen to us. By contemplating death, we free ourselves of denial, and we see how precious our days really are. Death and impermanence meditation can help us prioritize and live more intentional lives.
